This policy explains what information jobs.sobiaonline.com (the “Site”) collects, why we collect it, and which other services help us handle it. It applies to the job board services we operate: employer job posting, candidate accounts and CVs, applications, job alerts, support requests, and paid subscriptions.
If you have a question about this policy, contact us through the Contact page.
Information you give us
- Account details — the username, display name and email address you choose when you register, plus your phone number if you add one. Your password is held by WordPress as a hash rather than as readable text.
- CV and resume information — the work history, education, skills, contact details and other CV fields you enter, and any CV file you upload to the Site.
- Applications — the message you write when you apply, and the CV you attach to it.
- Job alerts — the regions, keywords, job categories, job types and notification frequency you select.
- Employer and partner details — the company name, contact email and job advert details you submit if you post a job.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the support, chat or contact forms.
- Order records — if you buy a paid service, the billing details, order and subscription records needed to take payment and manage your access.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — your IP address, browser and device details, the page requested, and the time of the request, used to operate and diagnose the Site.
- Cookies — WordPress sign-in cookies, WooCommerce cart and session cookies, Cloudflare CDN cookies, and Cloudflare Turnstile cookies used to protect forms. The CV preparation tool also keeps a daily usage counter tied to your user account.
How we use the information
- To run the Site: create and manage accounts, publish and display job adverts, and match candidates to roles.
- To send the job alerts you ask for.
- To provide the CV preparation and CV management tools.
- To respond to your support, chat and contact messages.
- To take payment and manage subscriptions for paid services.
- To limit abuse of our forms and AI tools, for example through Turnstile checks and daily usage limits.
Services that help us handle your information
We use third-party services to operate the Site. They process information on our behalf and under their own terms and policies, which we do not set or control:
- Cloudflare — content delivery network, caching, and the Turnstile form protection.
- Third-party AI service providers — used only for the CV preparation tool described below.
- Paystack — payment processing for paid services. PayPal is offered as an additional payment route where available.
- FluentSMTP — transactional email delivery, such as job alert and account emails.
- Fluent Support, Fluent CRM and the Chaty chat widget — handling your support, helpdesk and chat conversations.
- Our hosting provider — hosting the Site and its database.
AI-assisted CV preparation
Our CV preparation tool can draft CV content for you. To do that, we send the following to a third-party AI service provider:
- the text of the CV you upload;
- the instructions you type into the tool; and
- relevant job information, such as the title and description of the role you are targeting.
Please note:
- The provider may change over time. We may switch to a different AI service provider as we evaluate our options, so the specific company processing your CV text may differ from time to time.
- Only share what is necessary. Because the CV text and your instructions are sent with the request, please avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information — for example national ID numbers, bank or card details, medical information, or details about other people.
- Review what is generated before you use it. A generated draft is only a starting point. Read it, correct anything inaccurate, and update the CV fields before you save or download your CV. Do not submit a job application using generated wording you have not checked.
- Accuracy is your responsibility. The tool works from what you upload and what you write. Check every entry before you rely on it.
- Preparing a CV is not an application. Generating or saving a draft on the Site does not send anything to an employer. Where a vacancy lists its own application page or email address, you still apply through the employer.
Your choices
- Review and correct your CV and profile information in your account before you apply.
- Change your job alert preferences, or stop the alerts at any time.
- Contact us if you want to know what information we hold about you.
Not intended for children
