Applications are now open for the 2026 Hive Colab Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship. This fellowship, implemented by Hive Colab in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, supports growth stage EdTech ventures in Uganda that have demonstrated traction and are ready to scale responsibly.
The program is part of the broader Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship initiative, which is designed to accelerate promising African EdTech ventures. By equipping ventures with critical business, financial, and learning science support, the fellowship helps expand access to quality education for underserved communities.
Eligibility Requirements
The program is seeking:
– Locally founded and locally led ventures with leadership and decision-making rooted in Uganda
– Growth stage ventures with a working product, demonstrated traction, and readiness to scale sustainably
– Women-led ventures and diverse founding teams (strongly encouraged to apply)
Fellowship Benefits
Selected fellows will receive:
– Catalytic funding support: Equity-free funding up to USD 70,000 to accelerate inclusive scale and delivery readiness
– Structured fellowship curriculum: Practical program focused on growth stage execution, learning impact, and sustainability
– One-on-one mentorship: Direct support from experts in education delivery and venture scale
– Partnership and market access support: Connections to institutions and ecosystem actors
– Learning science and impact support: Guidance to measure outcomes and strengthen evidence of effectiveness
– Investor readiness and strategic advisory: Support to improve governance, storytelling, metrics, and long-term capital pathways
– Collaboration opportunities: Engagement with partners and ecosystem stakeholders
