Applications are now open for the 2026 FirstRand Oxford Blavatnik School of Government Scholarship. Through a five-year partnership between the FirstRand Empowerment Foundation (FREF) and Wadham College, University of Oxford, this prestigious scholarship enables one outstanding South African student each year to pursue a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Blavatnik School of Government.
The program is designed for future leaders who wish to deepen their understanding of public policy challenges and become effective changemakers in South Africa and beyond.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants will be assessed on:
– Academic excellence in their chosen field
– Leadership ability
– Community involvement
– Demonstrated potential to be a destiny changer
Additional notes:
– Applications must be submitted online only
– The selection process will run concurrently with the FirstRand international postgraduate scholarship programme
– Candidates must show commitment to contributing to South Africa upon their return
