Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the American University of Beirut (AUB). This fully funded program provides scholarships for both Master and PhD studies, preparing young Africans to become agents of change in their communities and across the continent.
Scholars benefit not only from academic coursework but also from workshops, fieldwork, and leadership development activities designed to strengthen their impact beyond the classroom.
On-Campus Master Scholarships
Open to:
– Citizens of African countries
– Citizens of Lebanon
– Refugees living in Lebanon or on the African continent
Tracks available: thesis and non-thesis Master programs.
PhD Scholarships
Open to:
– Citizens of African countries
– Refugees living on the African continent
Eligibility Requirements (On-Campus Master & PhD)
– 35 years or younger
– Strong academic standing in previous degree
– Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to community engagement
– Talent exceeding financial resources
– Commitment to attend additional workshops and learning experiences
– Proof of English readiness (RUSE) by May 31, 2026
– Accepted tests: AUB-EN, TOEFL iBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), Duolingo English Test (DET)
Online Graduate Scholarships
Available for Fall 2026 admissions in the following programs:
– Master in Engineering Management (Online)
– Master in Computing in Education (Online)
– Master in Business Administration (Online)
– Master in Nursing Administration and Management (Online)
– Executive Master in Healthcare Leadership (Online)
Eligibility Requirements (Online Programs)
– 35 years or younger

How to Apply
For On-Campus Master & PhD:
– Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by the deadline
– Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under Financial Opportunities in the application
– (Master only) Complete the AUB Financial Aid Application after submitting the graduate application
For Online Graduate Programs:
– Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by May 18, 2026
– Submit RUSE scores by June 30, 2026
Applications are only considered complete if both the graduate application and required financial aid/RUSE submissions are completed.
